The Springfield Selectboard reviewed a series of short‑term rental (STR) applications and septic (ISDS) items during its Sept. 22 meeting and directed staff follow‑up on incomplete filings.
Zoning Coordinator and Health Officer Tim Bray presented permit activity and an itemized STR status for eight properties. Several applicants — including the Stones at 2513 NH Route 4A, David Saggese at 30 Winding Wood Rd., and others listed in the report — have pending Site Plan Review (SPR) requirements or incomplete submissions, and some have had limited communication with town staff. Tim said he had broken down checklists and met with applicants where possible and that Planning Board review is pending for some filings.
Tim also reported an amended ISDS approval for James Dewkett of 2966 George Hill Rd, with the as‑built plan dated Sept. 15, 2025, meeting local health regulations. The board reviewed a letter to an STR applicant that will be edited to reflect a Dec. 31 deadline before being sent.
Why it matters: STR operations require compliance with local land‑use and health regulations; incomplete Site Plan Review files and unresolved septic issues can delay or restrict short‑term rental activity.
What’s next: Tim was asked to coordinate with Planning Board and ZBA processes where appropriate, to notify applicants of requirements and to report back to the Selectboard on outstanding items.
