Police Chief Jimmy reported a successful community search for a missing juvenile and thanked volunteers and interagency assistance. He said the search ended well and credited the turnout.
Jimmy then requested funds to replace failing portable breath-test devices. He presented a quote to buy three new PBT units with 200 mouthpieces for $1,510, noting the repair cost for existing units and warranty advantages for new units. Jimmy said having three units would allow one per patrol vehicle and provide a spare if one failed in the field. The council moved to approve purchase of the units and approved the request by voice vote.
Jimmy also asked residents to report suspicious activity to the police nonemergency line and said calls to the station route to his cell phone; he encouraged use of online offender registries as an informational resource.
