Council authorizes Ashley to begin duplex project on Swiss Street

Ashley said she would "get this process started" and described the development as residential with "two bedroom and three bedrooms for a house" across two buildings (for a total of four residential areas). Chair noted the town has adequate sewer capacity and moved that Ashley be allowed to go ahead with her plans; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
Council discussed inspection and Section 8 eligibility; Ashley said the project was not being offered specifically to Section 8. Staff (Jay) will inspect the site and bring photos and additional recommendations back to the council before final permitting and construction work proceeds.
The council asked Ashley to return with any additional design details and for staff to confirm compliance with zoning and inspection requirements before construction begins.
