The Ossipee Town Select Board said it will meet individually with Deer Cove property owners to sort out repairs and compliance after a community meeting that drew about 80 people.
“Everybody got the same information and it seems… it was generally a positive meeting,” Select Board member Jim said, describing outreach that included condo owners and unit presidents. He said several residents said they would remove noncompliant decks after seeing examples and learning what the town requires.
Jim and other board members said they will schedule two or three one-on-one meetings per day to work with owners on needed changes, with the goal of resolving issues before winter. Board members discussed options for raising low, puddled areas of roadway and whether full repaving would be required; one participant noted paving costs depend on the width and extent of work.
The board praised staff and volunteers who attended the meeting, and emphasized the plan will be to identify property-specific fixes rather than pursuing wholesale discontinuation of roadway access. No formal vote or funding decision was recorded; the board expects to return with a plan of action and individual timelines.
