Granton board OKs $5,000 for apartment repairs, elects library representative and schedules ordinance review

The Village of Granton board on July 9 approved a series of administrative and budget actions, including a $5,000 allocation for repairs to Apartment A and a change in rent from $500 to $550.
Trustee Bryan Vine moved to approve the repairs and rent change; Trustee Troy Moen seconded the motion and it was recorded as carried. The board formalized the expenditure in the meeting minutes, but no further line-item breakdown for the $5,000 was recorded.
The board also elected Trustee Troy Moen to represent Granton at the Joint Library annual meeting on Aug. 4 at 6:45 p.m. The motion to appoint Moen was made by Vine, seconded by Moen, and carried.
In personnel and operations actions, the board authorized issuance of a village credit card to newly appointed waterworks operator Ryan Wieselman. The motion was made by Trustee Vine, seconded by Village President John Garbisch, and carried.
On law-enforcement and ordinance oversight, trustees discussed Clark County Sheriff enforcement of village ordinances and scheduled a special meeting for July 23 at 6:30 p.m. to review the ordinances in detail. The motion to hold the special meeting was made by Vine, seconded by Garbisch, and carried.
The board approved multiple operator licenses — including Kevin Polsean, Abigail Schroeder, Jada Salisbury, Calliandra Blum, Bradley Opelt and Loretta Reed — and approved a Class B beer and Class B liquor license for Corrissa Koranda. Trustee Vine moved to approve the operator licenses and the liquor license; Trustee Moen seconded the motion and it carried.
Clerk/Treasurer Cole Minsaas reported that utility bills were sent with the June newsletter and asked that QuickBooks administration be transferred from Fabreann Buffington to the clerk. The treasurer recorded the receipt of $5,234.86 from DOT Investment Management in the financial report. Trustees listed possible future agenda items, including transferring funds into a certificate of deposit.
The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. at the village office, 210 Maple St., and was called to adjourn following the listed business; President John Garbisch moved to adjourn, Trustee Bryan Vine seconded, and the motion carried.
The board did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; all actions are documented in the meeting record as “motion carried.”
