Lafayette City board awards Dixon Construction contract, approves Creasy Lane change order and other routine business

The chair moved to award the contract to Dixon Construction; the motion was seconded and the board approved the award by voice vote. Felix also asked the board to issue a notice to proceed effective immediately, which the board approved.
Felix described a separate change order (No. 2) on the Creasy Lane Community Crossing project to add paving at the Creasy Lane–South Street intersection and additional skip pavement markings. He said the change order amounts to $105,272, bringing the overall contract to $2,099,087.40 and representing 8.9% in total change orders; the board approved the change order by voice vote.
Michelle Reynolds of the Lafayette Housing Authority asked the board to extend a FY25 agreement with Tippecanoe Senior Services for the SHARP project, noting the agreement had expired June 30 and the service provider had a remaining balance of about $8,800. The board moved and approved the extension; during the discussion the chair referred to a new end date of 12/31/2026, while Reynolds had initially described the request as an extension "to December" (the record reflects both statements).
City controller Jeremy Deal presented claims totaling $25,767,209.83 and asked for board approval; the board approved the claims by voice vote. The board also approved a miscellaneous banner request from the art museum.
