Stoddard Planning Board accepts ADU and commercial drafts for public hearing, approves lot merger and minutes

At its Feb. 3 meeting the Town of Stoddard Planning Board approved draft language for accessory dwelling units (ADU) and commercial-use provisions and agreed to schedule a public hearing to move the changes forward.
Vickie Williams moved to accept the ADU and Commercial ordinance drafts with minor grammatical corrections to the commercial language; Rex Rodanas seconded and the motion carried. The board said the Town Attorney had reviewed and approved the proposed ADU wording and that the Board will set a public meeting to proceed through the public-hearing process.
The board approved two sets of minutes: Randy McHale moved to approve the Jan. 6, 2026 minutes (Jason Kovarik seconded; motion carried) and moved to approve the Jan. 13, 2026 minutes as amended (Jason Kovarik seconded; motion carried).
On new business the board approved a voluntary lot merger for owners Tina and James Beckwith (Tax Map 115, Lots 59 & 60) after a motion by Harry Power, seconded by Jason Kovarik; the motion carried. The board also reviewed Master Plan assignments and the potential contract with the Southwestern New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission (SWRPC) for updated maps and data tables, with an estimate for printing, maps and data updates of approximately $12,500; the board noted funds are available in the current fiscal year if the board decides to contract this year.
Harry Power moved to adjourn the public meeting; Randy McHale seconded and the motion carried.
