Tamworth Fire/Rescue adopts standard radio code plug; repeater PL change will require reprogramming

Tamworth Fire/Rescue officials agreed on a single radio code plug for the department after the arrival of four new portable radios, and were warned the town repeater’s PL will be changed to eliminate interference.
Capt. D. Costello put together the proposed code plug, which those present reviewed and accepted as the department standard for all radios. The four new portables have been received and will be programmed to the agreed setting.
Chief R. Colcord said Ossipee Mtn. Electronics plans to change the repeater’s PL to eliminate radio interference from the Henniker Highway Department during storm events. "This will require all Department radios to be reprogrammed," Colcord advised.
The board did not record a formal motion to authorize programming work during the meeting; members discussed the proposal and agreed to the code plug and the need to reprogram radios following the PL change. The change is intended to improve radio reliability during mutual-aid and storm responses.
