The Stratford Selectboard at its May 19 meeting approved multiple administrative and enforcement actions, set a mandatory CPR/AED training session for town employees, and discussed a plan to improve interdepartmental coordination.
Town staff member Suzanne Goulet told the board that Groveton Ambulance will provide CPR/AED certification for all town personnel on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., and that attendance will be mandatory for town employees. Goulet also updated the board on junkyard complaints: the Marcy/Chapin property has addressed most violations but requested more time to finish vehicle and trailer removal; the Theberge property has been fully cleaned; new complaints have been lodged against the Maximov and Cheney properties. Goulet asked the board to approve sending letters to owners of properties with outstanding violations; a motion to send letters was made and passed 2–0.
On road maintenance, Goulet reminded residents that per contract all road-related requests must be routed to Road Agent Lynch, LLC; the board approved moving forward with an estimate from Tardiff (motion approved 2–0). Goulet said the town received no response from Trailside Campground concerning the RSA 72:7-b request required by the State of New Hampshire, and the board authorized sending a second letter to obtain the required information. The board also reviewed an application for a Dog Officer; after discussion a motion was made by Ron Scott Jr. and seconded by Harry Juergens to invite the applicant to a future meeting and to treat the role as stipend-based.
Administrative business recorded on the manifest included approvals signed by Harry Juergens and Ron Scott Jr. (2–0) for manifests dated May 5 and May 12, 2025. Signed documents noted in the meeting minutes included a building certificate for Arruda, reservations for McLeod and Lesperance, assessment letters for Portland Natural Gas, Fibercast and Phillips, and an IRS Clean Energy Credit Form 990T. The board reminded the public of Community Day events on May 23 and 24. The meeting adjourned at 4:57 p.m.
Actions taken at the meeting were procedural and administrative; no ordinances or budget appropriations were adopted during this session.
