The Town of Thayne’s council approved multiple financial motions on April 15, including a plan to renew a Bank of Star Valley certificate of deposit and passage of budget ordinances.
Mayor Simpson reported a maturing Bank of Star Valley CD with a balance of $1,629,114.98 and recommended renewing it for one year to maintain account diversification. Joe Heward moved to place the full amount into a one‑year CD pending comparison of rates at other institutions; the motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved ordinances 409–413 on second reading for the Town of Thayne fiscal year 2026–2027 budget (motion by Joe Heward, seconded by Councilmember Visser) and approved motions to issue checks identified in the previous month’s minutes to be ratified at the next meeting and to pay bills for the current period. Each motion was recorded as carried unanimously.
The meeting included a readout of account balances (WYO‑STAR II: $1,521,132.37; WYO‑STAR I March interest added for a new balance of $1,159,868.17) and a list of general vendor payments that were included in the minutes.
