Selectmen approve minutes, sign permits and enter sealed nonpublic session

The Sugar Hill Selectmen met June 16 at the Crapo Building and handled routine administrative business, approving the June 9 meeting minutes (as amended) and the June 9 nonpublic minutes; both motions were made by Selectman Dick Bielefield, seconded by Selectman Rusty Talbot, and passed unanimously.
The board signed an Eversource Pole & Petition License for a pole replacement on Toad Hill Road and an Intent to Cut Wood for Dennis Leedom (Map 208, Lot 17, Crane Hill Road). The board also approved building permits for a new home (Marc & Julia Prisco, Map 211 Lot 4 Blake Road), a mudroom (Joseph Kaye, Map 226 Lot 7.1 Hadley Road) and a generator (Peter Thomann, Map 227 Lot 5 Toad Hill Road).
Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette reported HealthTrust notified members that the New Hampshire Senate non-concurred with the House-amended SB297; as a result the state statutory framework for risk pools (RSA 5-B) remains unchanged and existing risk-pool operations continue under current law.
Procedurally, the board voted (roll call: Bielefield — Yes; Ellms — Yes; Talbot — Yes) to enter a nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3 II(c). During the nonpublic session the board voted to seal the minutes (same roll call results). The board left nonpublic session and adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
Why it matters: The meeting completed routine governance tasks and used a statutory exemption to discuss matters that the board determined could adversely affect an individual's reputation if discussed in public; the minutes from that portion of the meeting were sealed.
