Stratford selectboard approves routine manifests and minutes, tables Dog Officer job description

The Stratford Selectboard approved routine manifest signatures and signed documents and took procedural steps on personnel and administrative items at its May 5 meeting.

Selectmen approved manifests for April 14 and April 23, 2025 with a recorded 3-0 approval. A set of signed documents was recorded by the clerk, including a waiver for Meserve Conservation, reservations for Old Home Day, a pistol permit for Devincentis, and other routine clerical items.

Suzanne Goulet distributed the town's first-quarter profit-and-loss statements; board members had no questions at the meeting. The board reviewed an updated job description for the Dog Officer and suggested implementing a fee structure tied to tasks with a log for accountability. After discussion, Selectman Ron Scott Jr. moved to table the Dog Officer matter until the next meeting so members could review the related ordinance and the applicable RSA; the motion passed unanimously, 3-0.

Other administrative items included a reminder that the deadline to review the Marcy Property is May 19, 2025; a note that employees using private vehicles for work do not need the Town listed on personal insurance (personnel policy updated); and that the campground list must be forwarded to the town assessor. Selectman Harry Juergens reported he continues to work on the roundabout project, and Charles Goulet reported that hours at the Christie Property have returned to normal on Wednesdays.

The board also announced community events: Clean-Up Week (free day May 10) and Community Day (May 23–24). The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
