Shell Lake council approves temporary wine-walk license, $2,500 city-hall painting quote and routine vouchers

Shell Lake — On Nov. 10, 2025, the Shell Lake City Council approved routine business including a Temporary Class B beer and wine license for the Shell Lake Chamber of Commerce’s Wine Walk, accepted a $2,500 quote to paint City Hall and approved vouchers covering accounts 1284–1443.
Councilmember Stephen Smith presented the Financial Administration minutes and moved to approve vouchers 1284–1443; Councilmember Ken Schultz seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Smith then moved, seconded by Councilmember Mike Andrews, to grant a Temporary Class B beer and wine license for the Shell Lake Wine Walk scheduled for Nov. 21, 2025; that motion also carried.
Mayor Rowie Hansberger presented multiple administrative reports and city business. Hansberger announced that a Second Annual Winterfest will take place Feb. 14–15, 2026, and told the council the new counter at City Hall, donated and crafted by DP Juza, has been installed. Hansberger also presented Executive/HR Committee minutes and asked the full council to attend upcoming interviews for the city’s Chief of Police candidate.
On facilities work, Councilmember Ken Schultz reported the Beach House roof project should be completed by the end of the week. Later in the meeting, Hansberger presented quotes for repainting City Hall; Schultz moved and Tom Rasmussen seconded acceptance of a $2,500 quote from Doug Schutz to be paid from the City Hall Upkeep account. The motion carried unanimously.
City Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Andy Eiche reminded the council that paperwork for the April election is available and that candidates may begin accepting signatures on Dec. 1, 2025. Eiche also confirmed that off-street parking rules began on Nov. 1, 2025 after a question from Councilmember Dan Harrington. Harrington asked that the council consider placing the three properties the city had considered selling on a future agenda; Councilmembers Rob Anderson, Stephen Smith and Dan Harrington asked the mayor to add the item.
Ken Schultz moved, seconded by Terry Severson, to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m.; the motion passed and the meeting ended.
