Town of Surry selectmen approve E‑911 address for Surry Sand and Gravel, sign tax warrant and routine business

Bruce Smith, the town's Emergency Management contact, provided a non‑postal E‑911 address of 547 Route 12A for Surry Sand and Gravel and recommended acceptance of a sign at the junction of Route 12A. Jay Croteau moved to accept the address; Steve Goldsmith seconded and the motion carried. Bruce Smith will submit the address to the E‑911 office.
The board signed payroll and accepted minutes from April 28 and May 5, 2025 after motions from Jay Croteau and seconds from Ron Profaizer. Selectmen also signed bills and the EFTPS payroll tax payment.
The selectmen signed the town tax warrant and left a copy for tax collector Carolyn Berglund. Yield warrants were signed for Tim Bienvenu (lot 5A‑90) and McClaron (lot 4A‑24‑1); copies were left for the tax collector and Jay Croteau emailed copies to the Department of Revenue Administration where noted.
The board authorized Avitar to send data‑verification letters to residents and to provide an updated mapping contract; opt‑outs will be tracked by the town. The meeting record also notes that Avitar added a solar feature to building permits and that solar valuations and exemption signatures were recorded for two property owners (Larocca and Scott).
The meeting concluded with several routine administrative notes, including receipt of a $165.22 payment from The Tree Agents LLC related to Planning and Zoning notices and a Highway Block Grant payment of $5,839.41 received April 1, 2025.
