Selectmen approve police storage plan, deny five abatements and schedule hazardous‑waste day

The Sugar Hill Selectmen approved routine municipal business at their June 30 meeting, including motions to accept the regular and nonpublic minutes of June 16 and a motion to approve a police storage plan for highway property.
Selectman Richard Bielefield moved to approve the June 16 regular meeting minutes and the nonpublic minutes; both motions were seconded by Selectman Rusty Talbot and passed unanimously. Selectman Talbot then moved, and Selectman Bielefield seconded, a motion permitting Police Chief Mike Ho‑Sing‑Loy to move forward with plans to place 8×20‑foot storage containers with a roof on highway property so a cruiser and speed‑sign equipment can be kept there; the motion passed unanimously.
The board reviewed five requests for property tax abatements and chose to deny all five applications; the minutes do not record individual vote tallies for that decision. The Selectmen also recorded septic approvals for Christian Nibbring (Map 219, Lot 11), Neil Pilotte (Map 219, Lot 49), and a construction approval for Bonn Revocable Trust (Map 219, Lot 68).
Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette reported a donation of a granite bench in memory of John Colony and recommended the Sugar Hill Museum as a placement; Gaudette will advise the donor family to contact 'Kitty' to finalize arrangements. Gaudette also announced the Pemi‑Baker Household Hazardous Waste Day will be held Aug. 3, 2025, 9 a.m.–noon at the Littleton Transfer Station.
Procedural business included a motion by Selectman Chris Ellms to enter nonpublic session under RSA 91‑A:3, II(c) (matters likely to affect the reputation of a person), a roll‑call vote to enter nonpublic session, and a subsequent motion to seal the nonpublic minutes; roll‑call votes to seal the minutes were recorded as 'Yes' by Selectmen Richard Bielefield, Chris Ellms and Rusty Talbot. The board returned from nonpublic session and adjourned at 6:22 p.m.
The Selectmen scheduled their next regular meeting for Monday, July 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Crapo Building.
