At the July 14 meeting, Maryann Lister reported that the town's tax collector advised there are nine properties with unpaid property taxes; certified letters warning owners that unpaid taxes could lead to tax-deed proceedings are being sent.
Suzanne Goulet told the board the sewer/water position has been posted and that Chester will keep his license to serve as a backup while the town seeks a suitable candidate. Goulet also advised that, because the town now has more than 10 employees, state guidance requires a joint loss (safety) committee composed of two managers and two employees; Maryann Lister and Selectman Ron Scott volunteered to serve as the two manager representatives and the board said it will select two employee representatives.
Suzanne raised the town's list of 2024 tax-deeded properties. Selectman Harry Juergens moved to table review of those properties for two weeks and Ron Scott seconded the motion; the transcript records the motion and second but does not record a vote. The board reviewed profit-and-loss reports for the second quarter and agreed to inspect a resident complaint that another resident was using oil on a town road to control dust.
The minutes do not record further procedural steps or a vote on the motion to table the tax-deeded properties; any follow-up scheduling or staff assignments should appear in subsequent minutes.
