Developers press for event‑center approval; planning board conditions tax pilot and DOT review

Bonacci representative Carrie Hood told the Town Board of Little Falls on Sept. 10 that the company was “present to find out where they were as far as approval for their event center.”
Clerk Sandra Regan reported the planning board met with ARC Herkimer immediately before the board meeting and approved the event‑center project subject to two conditions: a tax‑pilot agreement between the town and ARC Herkimer, and a New York State Department of Transportation review of a second traffic‑impact study.
Supervisor Dan Casler told the board he has done preliminary research on ARC Herkimer’s property taxes and said Assessor Meeker reported ARC Herkimer pays $11,750 per year across five parcels; Casler said he will determine which parcel(s) would be affected and negotiate a tax percentage and number of payment years for the parcel(s) tied to the proposed event center.
Board members agreed to schedule another meeting with developers and to try to have a proposal ready for consideration at the next town board meeting. No binding tax agreement was approved at the Sept. 10 meeting.
