Board signs off on bills, hears departmental updates and funding filings

The Town Board approved two bills resolutions and heard several routine departmental updates at its Aug. 13 meeting.
On a motion by Councilman Anthony Viscomi, seconded by Councilman Mitch Soules, the board adopted Resolution #64 approving payment of General Bills #95–105 in the amount of $13,282.62. Later, on a motion by Councilman Mitch Soules, seconded by Councilman Kevin Sullivan, the board adopted Resolution #65 approving payment of Highway Bills #101–116 in the amount of $25,347.56. Both payments were recorded as adopted and the board set its next regular meeting for Sept. 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
Codes Enforcer Phil Green reported issuing roughly 17 permits and said he had sent a letter to a property owner on Oregon Road about property condition; the board briefly discussed regulation of camper trailers and tabled that matter. Highway Superintendent Don Cotton said he filed for $89,000 in CHIPS funds. Town Clerk Sandra Regan reported that a state-filed moratorium law on solar farms had been filed by the state. Supervisor Dan Casler asked that the town initiate or update its sexual harassment policy; Town Attorney Nick Macri said he would review Casler's sample, edit as needed and provide copies to town employees.
No public comments were recorded during the privilege of the floor. The meeting recessed briefly to audit bills before returning to vote on the payments and adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
