Hamburg board names 2026–27 committee delegates and approves district officer appointments

The Hamburg Central School District Board of Education finalized organizational matters for the 2026–27 school year, assigning primary representatives and alternates to a series of internal and external committees and approving district officer appointments and other routine designations.
Chair (speaker 3) led a review of current committee rosters and vacancies. The board agreed to reassign or confirm membership across committees including health and wellness, ECASB delegate assembly and legislative team, budget and finance, NISPA/NYSP* voting representation, Hamburg IDA liaison, finance, transportation (Mary and Dave with Ashley as alternate), strategic planning (Jen and Cam), district safety, technology, building visitation, policy, audit (the full board), TTSA, facilities (Mary, Cam and Dave) and the comprehensive school counseling program (Jen and Ashley). The chair asked for and received a motion to approve the slate; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board then approved the district officers for 2026–27, additional appointment lists attached to the agenda, designations and authorizations as listed. The chair moved each set of items en bloc and they carried by voice vote.
Why it matters: Committee assignments determine which board members represent the district on key policy, budget and facilities conversations and who will report back on legislative and intergovernmental matters for the coming year.
Notes: During discussion the chair asked board members to consider who could step down from committees with heavy representation from the same constituencies to ensure broader perspectives. The board also noted upcoming ECASB meetings and the frequency of committee meetings when assigning alternates.
