Tri‑Town teams plan April 11 Health & Wellness Fair and propose a new PHE website

The Public Health Excellence Grant Advisory Board on Feb. 26 announced a Health and Wellness Fair scheduled for April 11 at the Masconomet cafeteria and outlined plans for a new PHE website.
Jessica Carter said Dr. Burns has been recruiting presenters and vendors for the April 11 fair and asked the three communities to help publicize the event. The board discussed including updates from health departments, the Tri‑Town nurse and inspector, area Councils on Aging, and listings for CPR trainings and flu clinics on the proposed site.
On the website, Carter reported she researched hosts and recommended GoDaddy for its combination of service and price; she said PHE personnel would host the site. Carter also said Opioid Abatement funds could not be used to fully pay for the website unless the funds were shared among eligible recipients, so the board will seek alternate or shared funding if the site costs are allocated to that source. Directors suggested they be involved in creating site content and raised adding information on mosquito control.
Board members did not take a formal vote on hosting arrangements; next steps include coordinating vendor outreach for the fair and drafting website specifications with director input.
