Cushing Selectmen weigh property options for public water access; Stones Point parcel quoted at $150,000

The other, owned by Priscilla O'Hara and bordering Old Settlers Cemetery, offers deep water but would require an access road and likely significant construction costs. Staples said he would contact Kevin Benner, who launches boats in nearby Friendship, for input on whether the Stones Point parcel would serve public launching needs.
The Selectmen directed other members to view the properties to assess access, cost and feasibility. No purchase was authorized at the meeting.
The discussion noted potential costs and topography as key constraints and the Selectmen did not vote to acquire property during the session.
