Gunnison County commissioners voted June 16 to approve Resolution 2026-21, authorizing Payment Schedule No. 02 under the county's existing Master Equipment Lease-Purchase Agreement with Holman Capital Corporation.
Chief Finance Officer Melissa LaMonica told the Board the county seeks to maintain a standing relationship with Holman Capital so staff does not need to negotiate terms for each large purchase and can spread equipment expenses over seven years. "The intention was to have a relationship with Holman Capital in order to not have to make terms every time," LaMonica said. The measure establishes revolving lines of credit to finance equipment acquisitions and authorizes county officers to execute related escrow, disbursement and acceptance documents.
The resolution states that the lease and related documents will not create a general liability against the county's taxing power; rental payments are intended to be special limited obligations as described in the transaction documents. The Board authorized county manager-designated officers to execute documents and take necessary closing actions.
The Board voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2026-21 (Houck ' yes; Puckett Daniels ' yes; Smith ' yes). The transcript records the authorized not-to-exceed figure on the agenda materials as $1,619,450 for finance and capital equipment proposals; the resolution delegates final form and details to designated officers for execution.
