Hobart trustees approve two-lot land split, adopt social media and media policies and accept municipal center timeline

The trustees also adopted two administrative policies: Policy 2026‑01, the Village Social Media Policy, and Policy 2026‑02, the Village Media Policy. Trustee Koepke moved to approve Policy 2026‑01; Trustee Zittlow seconded. Both policies passed on voice votes of 5‑0. The social media policy establishes guidelines for village social media sites; the media policy identifies employees authorized to speak for the Village to reduce conflicting or unauthorized communications.
In new business, the board accepted a proposed timeline for the design of a Hobart Municipal Center, which the materials present as covering the period from the present until a planned groundbreaking in summer 2028. President Heidel moved to accept the timeline; Trustee Zittlow seconded and the voice vote was 5‑0.
During the meeting the Village Administrator, identified in the record as Administrator Kramer, reviewed the village investment report and said auditors will be in the office in two weeks. Kramer also reported that the village is rationing road salt due to low supplies and that Brown County approved a vacation of Lonesome Road and part of W.
