Hixton staff report cemetery work, sewer repairs and new lights; clerk notes .gov email need

Public utilities representative Jim Simonson told the Village of Hixton Board on March 17 that trees have been removed at the village cemetery and that R & R Water telescoped sewer lines in a couple of town locations. Simonson said the annual cross‑connection report has been completed and that a bid for chip sealing is on file.
Jim Olson installed a new light at the recycling center and another at Village Hall, Simonson reported. He said he and Trustee Gene Larson will develop a scope of work to address a leak by the railroad, and the minutes note that prisoners will again assist with cemetery work this year.
Clerk Laurie Mueller reported that resident Larry Casper came to Village Hall to pick up his rezoning petition and had not returned it by the time of the meeting. Mueller also said the village needs a .gov email address for future voting and elections notifications and that IT technician Joe will handle the setup.
