Hixton board adopts state motel statute as local rule, approves operator license

At its Feb. 17 meeting the Hixton Village Board voted to adopt the State Statute that governs hotels, motels and tourist rooming houses as the village’s ordinance on motels.
Trustee Gene Larson moved to approve using the State Statute; Trustee Jay Mageland seconded. The minutes record that all present voted "aye," and the motion carried.
The board also reviewed and approved an operators license application for Nicole Rogers of My Three Gals. Trustee Gene Larson moved to approve the license and Trustee Jay Mageland seconded; the minutes state all present voted "aye."
The board listed a future agenda item described as "Motel Ordinance adoption," indicating officials may return to the issue to adopt a local ordinance or take further steps consistent with the state statute.
