Resident seeks rezoning to C1 Conservancy; attorney to file petition

The Hixton Village Board on Feb. 17 heard that property owner Larry Casper will seek rezoning of his land from Residential to a C1 Conservancy District.
Attorney Mark Radcliffe told Casper and the board that he will prepare the rezoning petition and explained the next steps: the village will hold a public hearing with mailed notice to residents within 100 feet of the property; residents unable to attend may file written comments; the board will hold a zoning meeting before the next regular board meeting; and, if the board approves the rezoning, Casper must apply for a conditional use permit to proceed.
No vote on the rezoning was held at the Feb. 17 meeting; Radcliffe’s filing and the scheduling of the required public hearing will determine the timetable for any formal board decision.
