Town approves new library trustee; board president to conclude final term in July

The Town of Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved Juan Villalba's nomination to serve on the Unicoi County Public Library Board, and Villalba is expected to begin his term on Aug. 1, President Cathy Griffith told trustees May 28.
Griffith said the board will hold an annual meeting to appoint next year’s officers; she added she is concluding her final term in July but plans to remain active on library-related boards and available as a resource.
No formal board action was recorded at the May 28 meeting regarding the appointment because the nomination was acted on by the Town of Erwin.
