Silver Creek Township starts enforcement process for junk at 3864 150th St NW; owner given Sept. 3 update deadline

Silver Creek Township moved Aug. 6 to begin formal enforcement at 3864 150th St NW after hearing from property owner John Haack.
Haack attended the meeting and described work he intends to complete, including repairing the roof and garage doors and moving items into the garage. Vice Chairman Mike Helman provided Haack with a copy of the county ordinance that the Township said must be followed and said the Township expects the property to be returned to compliance similar to its condition in 2014.
The board voted to issue a written notice outlining the violations and to require Haack to report back at the first meeting on Sept. 3, 2024. The motion to start the notice process was made by Vice Chairman Mike Helman, seconded by Supervisor Ryan Nelson, and carried 4-0.
Minutes state Haack was encouraged to complete as much remedial work as possible and that the board would discuss timelines and remaining items at the Sept. 3 meeting.
