Silver Creek Township approves Starry Gravel Pit lease, several routine motions and sale of old pickup

Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors met Nov. 26, 2024, and approved a set of routine administrative items and contracts, including the Starry Gravel Pit lease and the sale of an old pickup as a replacement F-550 arrives.
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m.; Chairman Mike Helman added “Sale of Pickup” to the agenda before the board approved the agenda on a motion by Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen, seconded by Supervisor Sandy Forsman (carried 5-0). The board then approved the Nov. 7, 2024 meeting minutes and the listed disbursements on motions by Geyen, seconded by Forsman (both carried 5-0). The audit of claims was recorded, with items including Pera ($1,123.04), West Central ($5,845.21) and Cortrust ($28.62).
Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen told the board she is working with the CPA to complete the audit, is making parcel corrections and will submit fire assessments this week. The board reviewed and approved the Starry Gravel Pit lease on a motion by Vice Chairman Geyen, seconded by Forsman (carried 5-0).
The board noted a 2013 F-550 will be ready for delivery this week or next; members discussed options for selling the old pickup and Chairman Helman moved to sell it on Elsenpeter Auction, seconded by Geyen (carried 5-0). The meeting also recorded receipt and deposit of a $353.42 check related to a hospital board dissolution matter; Clerk-Treasurer Paumen presented the letter and deposit during new business.
The meeting adjourned on a motion by Geyen, seconded by Supervisor Andy Christensen.
