Holland board adopts 2026 budget, approves contracts and appointments

The board voted unanimously to adopt a $1,762,035.45 budget for 2026 and a 2025 tax levy of $803,695 to be collected in 2026, with one technical change moving $1,000 from the Broadband Services Improvement account to Office Supplies for QuickBooks expenses. The motion was made by Supervisor Brody Stapel and seconded by Kelly Caswell.
Board members also approved a snow‑removal service agreement with Nyhof Custom Gutter & Aluminum, Inc.; authorized the clerk‑treasurer to send a letter to Park Square subdivision residents as presented; and accepted routine financial reports and the November voucher list (which added a Town of Sherman invoice for 50% of 2025 clerk/treasurer training costs and per diem payments). Most votes were carried by unanimous voice vote; the budget adoption was approved by unanimous roll call.
The board appointed Gordon Seegert III to the Onion River Solar Joint Development Agreement Committee for the remainder of his term. Chair David Huenink made the motion to appoint Seegert; it was seconded by Brody Stapel and approved unanimously.
Other business included a report that the Town submitted a Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) application for Tamarack Lane, with an expected award of about $23,200, and a brief exchange with a Sheboygan County deputy about speeding complaints in parts of the town.
