Residents’ complaints on junk, vehicles and a loose dog prompt township enforcement letters

In new business the board directed staff to send a copy of the township dog ordinance and attempt to obtain the dog owner’s address after a report of a dog running at large in downtown Silver Creek. The board also authorized sending a letter, with a copy of the ordinance and photographs taken by maintenance staff, to the owner of a property on 121st Street after a complaint about an accumulation of cars. A separate neighbor complaint about tires and junk at a property on 114th Street likewise prompted plans to send a letter and ordinance copy along with maintenance photos.
Next steps: staff will gather addresses and photographs and send enforcement letters with ordinance citations; the board did not take further enforcement action at the meeting.
