Blair Township authorizes MMO payment and equal distribution of Firemen’s Relief Fund

Township officials reported pension-relief funds of $106,956.43 were received Sept. 25, 2024. The 2024 Minimum Municipal Obligation (MMO) due to PMRS totals $132,581.00 for the year—$57,054 for police and $75,527 for non-uniform employees. The township’s general-fund portion is $25,624.57 and must be deposited by Oct. 25, 2024.
Supervisor Brad Germaux moved to approve payment to PMRS for the 2024 MMO prior to Oct. 25, 2024; Supervisor Lou Lusk seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also reviewed a Firemen’s Relief Fund distribution of $31,793.12 and approved distributing the amount equally among the four volunteer fire companies that serve Blair Township—$7,948.28 each—with a required distribution deadline of Nov. 17, 2024.
