Staff said the property (the site of the former fire station) is about 0.874 acres and currently hosts an auto-glass business and a cell tower. Rezoning would align future development with Parkway corridor design objectives and allow the town to sell the larger parcel while retaining the cell-tower parcel.
The commission voted in favor of forwarding the rezoning to council and approved the subdivision plat conditioned on the council following the commission’s recommendation. Staff said it would hold the plat until council action.
Next steps: Town Council will consider the rezoning at its next meeting; if council approves, staff will finalize the plat for recording.
