The commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the Town Council on a rezoning request for 208 West Cornell Avenue that would change the parcel from light-industrial (I-1) to single-family residential (R-1).
Staff said the property, about 1.85 acres and currently vacant, is adjacent to the applicant’s business and that previous, nearby properties had been rezoned from I-1 to residential uses. The applicant indicated the intent to build a stick-built single-family home. Staff said rezoning would be consistent with the comprehensive plan and would likely have little effect on surrounding property values.
A motion to recommend approval passed; one commissioner recorded an abstention.
Next steps: The rezoning will go to the Town Council for public hearing and final action.
