Council approves sewer district completion, two plats and a vacated-alley conveyance; claims approved

The City Council approved a set of routine planning, infrastructure and claims items on July 7.
Staff summarized the Echo Drive sanitary sewer project (Sanitary Sewer Connection District No. 22) as an 18-inch sewer started in January 2024 and finished late last year; council accepted the certificate of completion and, by motion, changed the board of equalization date from July 21 to Aug. 4, 2026.
The council adopted the planning commission’s recommendations for preliminary and final approval of Legends 2nd Subdivision (adding 14 lots on West State Farm Road) and for Platteview 5th replat (creating a panhandle lot with improved direct access). Council also approved Ordinance 42 53 conveying a vacated alley to Dennis and Shirley Ogborn on second reading.
During the claims approval, council discussed specific line items, including a $6,000 payment tied to the Milton Burger Monument (a grant pass-through) and a TIF-related payment assigned to a bank; staff said they would follow up on some details. The claims motion passed and the meeting adjourned.
