The board approved a $12,345,000 guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the Campus High School career and technical education (CTE) building package at a special virtual meeting, concluding in a 5-0 roll call vote. (The transcript identifies the group only as “the board” and does not provide a formal organizational name.)
Kyle, a Hutton representative who led the presentation, said the GMP covers the building package that follows the previously approved earthwork package and includes demolition, foundations, masonry, steel structure, interior finishes and mechanical, electrical and AV systems. "The total dollar amount on this course you see there is 12,345,000, which actually came in really good," Kyle said during the presentation.
The proposal includes owner‑provided items and several allowances: $20,000 for interior and exterior signage, $25,000 set aside for a new water well and a $75,000 placeholder for a BDA (radio) system to meet emergency‑responder radio requirements if needed. Kyle said temporary fencing is already installed on site and that civil work will begin the following week; the team set a substantial completion target of Oct. 1, 2027.
During a brief question-and-answer exchange, the chair asked BJ whether owner‑provided equipment and the audio scope raised any concerns. BJ responded, "No," and said the contractor team (including another team member, Allen) was satisfied with the arrangements.
Following the presentation and a statement that subcommittee representatives were comfortable with the proposal, the chair moved to approve GMP 1b.0.2; the motion was seconded by Tasha. The chair conducted a roll call and recorded votes as follows: Barb — yes; Tasha — yes; Jeremy — yes; Courtney — yes; and the chair — yes. The motion passed 5-0.
Next steps noted in the meeting: site demolition and civil work to begin the next week and continued coordination with owner representatives for owner‑provided equipment and finishing selections. The meeting ended with the chair thanking Hutton, Alloy and others for their work on the bond-funded project.
