Fairfax council tables city administrator discussion after tense public comments and staffing disputes

One resident (S2) described staff walking out and said, "She didn't hear how much money has she earned over the years in benefits... and she just says, screw you, then walks out the door." Council member S8, defending staff performance, said department heads had reported satisfaction with the administrator and pushed back against assertions that the administrator was incompetent.
Council members repeatedly cautioned that certain details are confidential and may require closed-session discussion. The council debated possible wrongful-termination exposure if allegations were publicly aired before due diligence. After discussion, a motion to table the city-administrator agenda item carried; the council did not take substantive public action on the underlying personnel complaints during the special meeting.
Other actions tied to staffing: Council took procedural steps to ensure meeting operations continued — members discussed appointing an interim clerk and assigned minute-taking for the meeting (S5 proposed Maribel Town/Mary Ann Rangark to take the minutes; Kathy (S6) later agreed to assist). The mayor said he will consult the city attorney and convene an all-staff meeting the next morning and asked for council support.
