New Pawtucket high school construction advances; steel erection expected late July

Colliers Project Leaders presented a progress update on the new Pawtucket high school site on June 23. Project leads said the 100% construction document package was completed in May and submitted for permitting; the project is under building‑department review and has ongoing coordination with the Narragansett Bay Commission. On site, foundations are complete in several areas, gym masonry walls are up and substantial underground utilities have been installed. Colliers reported that steel erection is expected to begin in late July or early August, with a topping‑off event targeted for December and curtain‑wall installation extending into mid‑2027.
Colliers said the site is active, with roughly 75–90 workers on site in early June and projections of several hundred workers at peak construction. The team described logistics work to limit neighborhood disruption (on‑site employee parking, laydown areas) and said they are preparing traffic‑flow and parking analyses, which they plan to present to the building committee in July. Committee members pressed for clarity on student and staff parking, pedestrian crossings and neighbor impacts; Colliers said they will continue outreach and deliver traffic/parking materials in the next meeting cycle.
