Town staff presented rescue-service reports at the June 16 Select Board meeting, detailing April and May response activity, mutual-aid arrangements, and staffing changes.
Speaker 2 summarized April activity (reported 34 calls for April and a year-to-date total reported as 140) and then described May as having 38 calls with a year-to-date figure spoken in the transcript as "170 8" (the figure in the recording is unclear). The presenter noted call-type breakdowns (ALS/BLS) and reported that mutual aid had been both requested from and provided to neighboring departments, including Turner and PACE.
Speaker 2 said Rescue 451 is scheduled to begin the remount process and described ongoing spring-cleaning and equipment-organization work at the station. The department welcomed EMT Kelsey Fournier and AMTs Corey George and Willow Lowsier; speaker 2 noted two departures as well, yielding net churn in staffing.
Board members discussed revenue-generating transfers (one paid transfer to Fort Kent was reported) and the advantages of mutual-aid arrangements that avoid per-call charges from some larger services. The presentation included minor discrepancies in the printed report that the presenter acknowledged and promised to correct.
The board did not take action beyond receiving the report. The staff presenter said they would follow up on the corrected call counts and provide any updated documentation to the board.
