Planning staff presented revised zoning-ordinance language intended to clarify permitted uses and introduce special development standards for alcohol retailers, vape/tobacco/hemp stores and to update the zoning table. Staff described the edits as reader-friendly rewrites intended to align local rules with state requirements and to add distance, gross sales-area and materials standards where appropriate.
Commissioners discussed the changes and opted to table the proposal so members could review the revised language in detail before forwarding a recommendation to city council. A motion to table the amendments to the July meeting carried by voice vote.
Staff said the item will return in July for further consideration; commissioners asked for time to review consultant-suggested phrasing and the proposed zoning-table changes before taking action.
