The personnel and human services chair reported committee actions that included approval of an advanced-step hire in information services and a position reclassification request from the county clerk intended to improve department fluidity.
Committee members also reported renewals of the employee assistance program with Pine Rest Services and workers’ compensation arrangements with Broadspire, and noted that the Gallagher benefits manager had renegotiated stop-loss coverage, producing cost reductions.
On the county administrator search, the chair said the committee was “unable to come to terms with Greg Valistra, and so he has withdrawn his application.” The chair said the committee will review next steps and assess the duration and scope of services provided by the interim administrator, Mr. Seppic.
Administrative committee highlights included a recommendation to reestablish a third law clerk position for the courts (committee-approved) and a notice of a potential MDOT reimbursement program (up to $10,000) to support an engineering position in the road department and an inspection contract with RS&H for approximately $27,000 related to Glendora Road work.
What’s next: Personnel committee members said they will continue the administrator search and review interim arrangements; staff will schedule follow-up and bring additional details to future meetings.
