Council members said the city can provide temporary orange fencing and signage for a single-day event and recommended a public meeting to gauge volunteer capacity and community interest for features such as a parade and pickleball or basketball court improvements.
Separately, Albert (speaker 4) representing Bartz Storage asked the council to consider extending the adjacent city street by about 150 feet so he could construct an additional storage unit behind existing buildings. Council members and staff discussed the need for engineering (pavement base, water and sewer), timing and whether the work could be coordinated with other street or lot grading projects; council agreed to look into the logistics and possible scheduling.
Council did not take formal action other than directing staff to investigate options, check easements and follow up with cost/engineering advice at a future meeting.
