Good Thunder closes FEMA grant for archery park, installs new targets

Council member (speaker 4) updated the council on a FEMA grant the city applied for to repair flood damage at the Archery Park. Speaker 4 said the city received about $6,936.02 which was used to replace three 48-inch and two 36-inch targets, fabricate stands and cover associated labor and material retrieval costs.
The report noted the city acquired a storage container to house equipment and that staff and volunteers plan to add clearer signage, rules and directions to improve use and reduce wear. Speaker 9 and others said the park sees seasonal use and that the new double-sided targets and target layout lines should extend target life.
No formal council action was required beyond accepting the grant closeout report; council members thanked the volunteers (including Eli and Sue) who worked with FEMA and helped implement the repairs and storage improvements.
