The Houston Park and Recreation Board on May 14 heard a recap of the EK 5K and approved installing two temporary t-ball/tossball fields at Tuttle's to provide additional space for the older kids' league.
Committee member Stetson Evetts reported the EK 5K "went great" but noted there was no fun run because few children participated and that the event had a shortage of volunteers. The board discussed the need for more volunteers at future events.
Robbie Mortensen proposed putting up two temporary fields at Tuttle's to address limited field availability; the board agreed the plan was acceptable and members said they currently have enough coaches.
The board did not record a formal motion to authorize funding or permanent facility changes; the decision was recorded in minutes as an agreement to proceed with temporary fields.
