Morgan County commissioners ratify consent agenda, appoint Jordan Traxler to Fair Board and announce fraud-notify tool

The Morgan County Board of County Commissioners on Feb. 11 approved a 12-item consent agenda covering ratification of meeting and public hearing minutes, contract approvals, warrant signatures and other routine matters. Commissioner Kelvin Bernhardt moved to approve the consent agenda and Commissioner Tim Malone seconded; the motion carried 3-0.
As part of general business, Commissioner Malone presented a letter of interest and a Certificate of Appointment for a Fair Board vacancy and moved to appoint Jordan Traxler to a term ending Dec. 31, 2025. Commissioner Bernhardt seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Chairman Jon Becker noted the appointment followed a resignation on the Fair Board.
Clerk and Recorder Kevin Strauch told the board that the Recording Department added a ‘‘Fraud Notify’’ tool on the county website that allows residents to receive alerts if a document is recorded in their name. The board reviewed its calendar for Feb. 7–18, 2025 and adjourned at 9:14 a.m.
