Council approves rezoning near STH 26, updates purchasing policy and routine consent items

The Jefferson Common Council unanimously approved a zoning amendment, updates to the city purchasing policy, and routine consent items during its Nov. 19 meeting.
Ordinance #12-24 changed the zoning designation for parcel 241-0714-3513-004 (south of Junction Road, east of STH 26) from Suburban Mixed Use (SMU) to Urban Mixed Use (UMU). The ordinance was presented for second reading and will take effect after passage and publication, as required by municipal procedure. Ald. Obernberger moved approval and Ald. Teeter seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
On the consent agenda the council approved Resolution No. 77, which included vouchers payable for November in the amount of $2,316,133.56 and a payroll summary for Nov. 1, 2024, in the amount of $247,782.42. The consent agenda also approved council minutes and authorized licenses as approved by the Regulatory Committee, including operator’s licenses and a Combination Class B beer and liquor license for TGI Landmark Saloon, LLC. Ald. Teeter introduced the consent agenda; Ald. Beyer seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also adopted Resolution No. 78 updating the City of Jefferson Purchasing Policy with changes related to purchase orders. Ald. Mattke introduced the purchasing-policy resolution; Ald. Tully seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
These items were recorded as unanimous votes in the meeting minutes and are part of routine municipal business taken up during the meeting.
