The City of Jefferson Common Council convened Oct. 1, 2024 at City Hall Council Chambers under Mayor Dale W. Oppermann and completed business in a 26-minute session.
Paul Frantz of Baker Tilly presented the General Purpose Financial Statements and Utility Purpose Financial Statements. Ald. Jim Schroeder moved, seconded by Ald. Toby Tully Jr., to accept the financial audit; the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Dale W. Oppermann signed a proclamation designating Oct. 15, 2024 as White Cane Safety Day, citing the state White Cane Law and urging attention to pedestrian-safety features such as sidewalks and accessible signals.
Ald. Laurie Teeter introduced the consent agenda (Resolution No. 62), which included October payables ($884,204.38), August manuals ($7,923.00), September manuals ($20,150.47), payroll summary for Sept. 20 ($116,902.65), Sept. 17 council minutes and licensure approvals. The council adopted the consent agenda; Ald. Peg M. Beyer and Ald. Chick Neils abstained from the minutes.
After other business the council approved ordinances and a housing-loan resolution and adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
The council recorded no public participation during this meeting.
