At the start of the June 23 Bexley City Council meeting, President Saad introduced Dr. Catherine (Katie) Nowak as the incoming superintendent of Bexley City Schools.
Dr. Nowak, who said she prefers “Katie,” told council she has spent 22 years in public education in Central Ohio, serving as a teacher, building administrator and district administrator, including prior service in Bexley as director of curriculum and gifted. She most recently served as assistant superintendent of teaching and learning in New Albany‑Plain Local Schools.
Nowak emphasized collaboration with families, staff and city leaders to sustain Bexley’s tradition of academic excellence and said she was excited to return to Bexley with her family. She offered to answer council questions but said she needed to leave early to continue house‑hunting in the community.
