He reported no violations in the CCR and said the village should move toward ultraviolet disinfection because the Department of Natural Resources will require elimination of chlorine systems in the future.
Gates advised beginning bids now: a UV system that cost about $60,000 in 2023 has an estimated current price nearer $120,000, and early bidding would demonstrate the village is actively pursuing the upgrade. He also noted the water tower inspection requirement had been satisfied once late lead-service-line reports were submitted.
The board accepted the reports and directed Gates to file them for the village record. Trustees did not take a formal vote to fund a UV system at this meeting; the recommendation was framed as preparatory work to position the village for the DNR timetable.
