County staff outline $15.1 million in state health allocations and multiple grant efforts

Staff outlined a $300,000 Michigan Health Endowment Fund collaborative capacity-building grant application intended to standardize frameworks for death-review committees (opioid, suicide, fetal/infant, child death reviews), modernize data systems, and produce shared dashboards and summary reports to guide prevention recommendations.
Officials also described renewed applications to the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (produce prescription) to support the Prescription for Healthy Oakland program, which provides $40 per month per adult in vouchers redeemable at specified farmers markets and grocers and includes health education components; partners cited include Oakland University and Honor Community Health. Staff said the 340B drug-pricing revenue will be accounted for separately this year and is expected to provide approximately $700,000 annually to support HIV-prevention and hepatitis-C services.
County staff sought and received board approval to apply for and accept multiple grants and amendments; the clerk recorded unanimous approval where noted.
